At least I think that’s right. It’s been a long time – though in some ways it seems like only yesterday. I’d like to give a belated, but much heartfelt, thank you to all of my former teachers for a wonderful education.
I also attended John R. Good fro 1988-1992 (2nd-5th) Mrs. Scott was my second grade teacher. She meant so much to me. I am trying to get ahold of her to thank her for so many things. So many of my childhood memories take me back to that school. Having to run the pondorosa, had to be the worse! :)
Monica, I remember you! You were in the 5th grade during my first year teaching at Good (where I still teach). You're right, Mrs. Scott was a terrific teacher and person (and still is...). Hope you are having a wondeful life! Mrs. Rinehart (Graybill when you were here), Music.
I'm surprised that they were still calling the field the "Ponderosa" (at least) 10 years after I left! Maybe the kids in P.E. are still ‘picking cherries’ too.
In my day they also had a yearly ‘carnival’ on the playground (during the fall?). This was my favorite part of the school year.
We had a yearly track and field event. I (ahem) won a few ribbons.
We had a ‘supply wagon’ where students could buy school supplies (pencils, erasers, paper, etc…). Gina Phillips and I ran it one year. (3rd grade?)
I wish I knew where any of my class pictures from those years were. I’m sure that would help jog a few more memories
I went to JRG K-5th...Mrs. Hambrick, Mrs. Hardy (who left for maternity leave, replaced by Mrs. Grider)Mrs. Owens, Mrs. Anglin, and Mr. Powell...My name is Russell Guthrie
I attended in the 70's. I remember Mrs. peatree, Ms. Massey and Mr. Powell whom I believe was my 6th grade teacher. I remember a Donna, Karen and Robyn in my class and I remember David Guthrie and a kid named Mark who beat me up... for good reason. I was the class clown. Jerry Moody is my name and my email is jmoody66@yahoo
